Dwight Yoakam at The Mirage Friday, Dec. 2 and Saturday, Dec. 3 at 10:30 p.m.

Dwight Yoakam will perform in the Danny Gans Theatre at The Mirage Friday, Dec. 2 and Saturday, Dec. 3 at 10:30 p.m.

With his stripped-down approach to traditional honky-tonk and country, Yoakam helped return country music to its roots in the late '80s. Yoakam has appeared on the country Top 10 charts numerous times and remains one of the most respected and adventurous recording country artists of all time. Songs like “Guitars, Cadillacs,” “A Thousand Miles From Nowhere” and “I Sang Dixie” vaulted Yoakam to the top of both the pop and country charts. His talents have also taken him to the big screen as an actor in such movies as “Sling Blade,” “Panic Room” and “Waking Up In Reno.”

In 2004 he released Dwight's Used Records, a 14-track anthology including duets that appeared on other artists' albums, unreleased covers, and cuts Yoakam contributed to various tribute compilations. An album of all new material, the self-produced Blame the Vain, followed in 2005.

Rolling Stones Las Vegas Tickets

Following the thunderous response to last night’s opening night performance in Boston, MGM Grand confirmed today that The Rolling Stones will bring their “A Bigger Bang World Tour 2005/2006” to the MGM Grand Garden Arena Friday, Nov. 18. The show is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m.

Rolling Stones Tickets

The Rolling Stones’ new CD, A Bigger Bang, will be released Sept. 6 on Virgin Records. Continuing their historic songwriting partnership, Mick Jagger and Keith Richards began the creative process last autumn and were later joined in the recording studio by Charlie Watts and Ron Wood. A Bigger Bang features all new songs and is the first studio album by The Rolling Stones since the 1997 platinum-certified Bridges to Babylon. While in the studio recording the album last year the band came up with the title “A Bigger Bang,” reflecting their fascination with the scientific theory about the origin of the universe.

The Rolling Stones will once again showcase their diversity as musicians and bring fans electrifying performances and state-of-the art stage production while performing in both stadiums and arenas throughout North America. For official tour information, fan club memberships, exclusive merchandise and more special offers, visit www.rollingstones.com.

The United States leg of the Rolling Stones’ “A Bigger Bang World Tour” is being produced by WPC Piecemeal, Inc. The tour is being presented by Ameriquest Mortgage Company, Concert Productions International, The Next Adventure and The Andrew Hewitt Company in association with MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
